Why is art important in child's growth and development?
Art education plays a vital role in providing kids with a holistic learning experience that enhances a child's ability to interact with the world around them. Through art activities, kids put their critical thinking skills to practice, learn to strike a conversation with friends and the art trainer as they begin to express themselves creatively. When children engage in enriching art programs, they become more independent, confident and equipped with leadership skills that impacts their bright future.
What special contribution to the arts make to learning?
Holistic development is at the core of any and every art activity. Cognitive development comes to the forefront of art education as repetitive art exercises strengthen the neural networks formed in the brain, thus improving concentration and memory power. Art also helps release stress and enhances creativity which facilitates better learning practices, especially when kids find it difficult to cope with tough subjects, they engage in art programs that stimulate critical thinking skills.
Does arts education develop school readiness?
Yes, art education equips toddlers with fundamental skills that get them ready for an enriching academic experience. When kids engage in art activities such as doodling, drawing, clay modelling, sketching and painting, they exercise gross-motor and fine-motor skills, learn problem solving skills, develop cognitive skills and enhance communication skills. These skills contribute in making them easily adapt to the environment of preschool where they are introduced to critical concepts of mathematics and science.
What art activities would promote language development?
Art activities involve interpreting various art lessons, communicating with art trainers and peers over unique experiments and the articulation of creative ideas. They help kids build on their vocabulary and speech in the course of learning about well-known artists, art patterns, textures and art forms. Besides language development, art education also promotes emotional and social development that makes kids apply these skills in their academic as well as routine lives.
How does art influence the cognitive development a child?
During early childhood stages, multiple neural connections are formed in the brain based on the unique learnings that a child experiences while playing, singing, dancing or painting. Over a period of time these memories are processed further to identify new ways of carrying out daily activities with greater ease. Thus, process art stimulates the brain cells to build on existing experiences and determine new and creative ways of performing art activities rather than emphasizing on the final outcome.

ABRAKADOODLE CLASSES
My daughter Rachel participated in Twoosy Doodlers this summer…. I wanted to let you know that Rachel could not wait to get to class each week and produced some amazing art projects. We are so excited by your program and want to thank you for bringing it to our area.

ABRAKADOODLE CLASSES
I’ve taken my mini me to many classes before, but Abrakadoodle is the only one that managed to capture her interest. Each lesson is unique and she learns about different artists and different art form and techniques. During gallery time, she always wants to be the first to talk about her artwork. Now, I’m running out of space at home to display all her artwork.

ABRAKADOODLE CAMPS
We’ve been going to Abrakadoodle for more than a year now. Gabriel started when he was just over 2 years old with the Twoosy Doodlers class, an accompanied class which had parents assisting the young ones with their art.
It was with great pride that I watched Gabriel graduate early last year to the unaccompanied Mini Doodlers class. The different modules covered each week allow the kids to work with various mediums, such as modelling clay, watercolour, acrylic paint, etc. The children are also taught different techniques each week.
As a parent, I am very happy that my son enjoys creating new pieces of art every week and looks forward to the classes so much. Thanks to the cheerful and enthusiastic teachers at Abrakadoodle, who have helped to instill a love of art and creativity in my little boy.
